Thanks to generous funding through the Government of Ontario, the City of Temiskaming Shores is created an Age Friendly Community Plan. The purpose of the plan is to bring awareness of the needs of older adults to the attention of decision makers and ultimatly make Temiskaming Shores more Age Friendly. To date over 700 older adults and service providers have shared their experience and hopes for the future of our community. An addition 280 surveys were completed and 130 older adults came out to the final public consultation meeting to assit in determining priorities. The Steering Committee will begin implementation of the plan in the fall..
"To promote an inclusive, accessible, safe and respectful community; that enables independence, health and wellness and full participation at all stages of ageing while celebrating diversity".
