A question occasionally asked of library staff members is, “How is the library funded?” In Ontario, libraries are funded primarily through municipal tax dollars. In Temiskaming Shores, this accounts for about 85% of library revenues. Although libraries are primarily funded by municipalities and their boards are appointed by municipal councils, libraries are governed by the Public Libraries Act of Ontario. La technologie et moi n’étions pas de meilleurs amis mais avec l’encouragement de ma patronne, mes collègues de travail, ma famille et mes amis… et avec la pratique… tout est possible.
J’oserais d’ailleurs dire que parfois c’est très amusant.

The Temiskaming Shores Public Library has been very, very fortunate over the years to have had lots of wonderful partnerships with many other organizations both local and not-so-local.
One of our most recent partnerships has been with the Grain Farmers of Ontario. They graciously and generously reached out to us through their Good in Every Grain public outreach campaign offering to send us some grain growing kits.
