We All Need Accessibility
The City of Temiskaming Shores is committed to providing all persons consistent opportunity and access to the City's programs, services, and facilities. The City strives to ensure integration, independence, dignity, and equal opportunity for all of our community members.
The Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (A.O.D.A) was enacted in 2005 with the goal of making Ontario Accessible by 2025. The A.O.D.A. consists of five standards which guide employment, information and communication, transportation and the design of public spaces.
Through the A.O.D.A. the City of Temiskaming Shores created the Temiskaming Shores Accessibility Advisory Committee or TSAAC who provide recommendations to Council about the accessibility of City services. TSAAC reviews site plan control agreements, develops programs to improve accessibility in the community and generally advises on the accessibility of City services and facilities.
If you require any information available on the website in an accessible format please contact the Clerks Department or fill out an Accessible Request Form.
The City of Temiskaming Shores would love to hear your story, please fill an Accessible Feedback Form so that you can be part of our journey toward a more accessible community.
